GolfHer ("we," "our," or "us") is operated by Technolica, Inc., a Delaware C-Corporation. This Privacy Policy describes how we collect, use, disclose, and protect your personal information when you use the GolfHer mobile application and website (collectively, the "Service").

1. Information We Collect

Account Information: When you create an account, we collect your name, email address, and password. You may optionally provide your gender, skill level, handicap, play style preferences, and availability.

Location Data: With your permission, we collect your approximate location to match you with nearby golfers and golf courses. We apply a privacy jitter of 200-500 meters to protect your exact location. You can disable location services at any time.

Usage Data: We collect information about how you use the Service, including AI Caddie sessions, course reviews, messages, tee times created or joined, and community feed activity.

Device Information: We collect device type, operating system version, and push notification tokens for delivering notifications.

Photos: If you upload profile photos or feed images, these are stored securely on Amazon Web Services (AWS) S3.

2. How We Use Your Information

We use your information to:

• Provide and improve the Service, including partner matching and AI Caddie recommendations
• Send you notifications about matches, messages, tee time updates, and available players nearby
• Process your account and manage subscriptions
• Analyze usage trends to improve our matching algorithm and features
• Communicate with you about updates, promotions, and support
• Ensure safety and prevent abuse

3. AI and Data Processing

Our AI Caddie feature uses OpenAI's GPT-4o model to provide club recommendations. When you use the AI Caddie, we send your club distances, hole information, weather conditions, and skill level to OpenAI for processing. We do not send your name, email, or other personally identifiable information to OpenAI.

Community data (anonymized club choices and outcomes from other users) may be used to improve recommendations for all users.

4. Information Sharing

We do not sell your personal information. We may share information with:

• Other Users: Your display name, profile photo, skill level, play style, and general location are visible to other GolfHer users for matching purposes.
• Service Providers: We use third-party services including AWS (hosting and storage), MongoDB Atlas (database), SendGrid (email), Firebase (push notifications), and OpenAI (AI features). These providers process data on our behalf under contractual obligations.
• Legal Requirements: We may disclose information if required by law, court order, or to protect the safety of our users.

5. Data Security

We implement industry-standard security measures including encrypted data transmission (TLS/SSL), hashed passwords (bcrypt), JWT-based authentication, and secure cloud infrastructure on AWS. However, no system is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

6. Data Retention

We retain your personal information as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, we will delete your personal data within 30 days, except where retention is required by law or for legitimate business purposes (such as resolving disputes).

7. Your Rights

Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have the right to:

• Access, correct, or delete your personal information
• Request a copy of your data in a portable format
• Opt out of marketing communications
• Restrict or object to certain processing activities
• Withdraw consent at any time

8. California Privacy Rights (CCPA)

If you are a California resident, you have additional rights under the California Consumer Privacy Act, including the right to know what personal information we collect, the right to deletion, and the right to opt out of the sale of personal information. We do not sell personal information.

9. Children's Privacy

GolfHer is not intended for users under 13 years of age. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If we become aware that we have collected such information, we will delete it promptly.

10. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes by email or through the app. Your continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
